Convert

The Convert tool, accessed from the CURVEmachine menu, converts a POLY spline into a NURBS spline or the other way around.

Note

When converting into a cyclic NURBS spline, CURVEmachine will by default enable the use_endpoint_u spline property.
This ensures the evaluated Nurbs curve meets the end points of the spline, instead of falling short, depending on the Nurbs Order property.

Keep in mind

CURVEmachine deals primarily with POLY and NURBS splines. As such it does not allow you to convert into BEZIER splines.

You can however convert BEZIER splines into NURBS splines. And when you do so, CURVEmachine will remove all points created from BEZIER handles for you, which tend to be superfluous.

  • active spline of any type

Using Convert

Convert

  • Chose Convert to POLY or ..to NURBS, depending on the type of your current active spline
  • Optionally adjust the Meet Endpoints property in the redo panel, if you are converting into a NURBS spline
