1.0

This is the initial release, and it represents the annotation workflow I always wanted for myself in Blender.

With INKit you can annotate a 3D View from an iPad, or from an Android tablet. The devices just need to be on the same Wi-Fi - and have support for an active stylus, please see requirements.

After you've installed INKit, the first thing you should watch is the following, to learn how to connect your device, set it up in the most convenient and frictionless way, so you can start annotating effortlessly.

Server

Running the server enables your tablet device to receive Blender's views as canvas captures and then send back strokes you draw with the stylus on your tablet.

Keep in mind

This server runs in your local network only. It's not visible to the outside world.

Canvases

Canvases are stored 3D views with their unique location, rotation, lens and various "view styles", such as shading type, matcap or studio light selections or the chosen render engine.
They are the contextual background you annotate and draw on top of.

Hyper Pencil

In the previous two videos I've covered the foundational ideas of INKit: the server and canvases.
The Hyper Pencil tool is what pulls these together into a seamless user experience, and is how I use INKit myself and would recommend it to most people.

Drawing and Text

On the connected tablet computer you have the pencil tool for annotating and simple shape-blocking style painting, an eraser and a text tool.

Because each device connects to Blender as a client of the INKit server, you can have several tablet computers - or even regular browsers - connected at the same time, which is useful for design reviews and presentations.
