Clean Up
shortcut 3 in edit curve mode
The Clean Up tool is used to clean up POLY and NURBS curves - remove doubles, dissolve (nearly) colinear redundant points, and delete loose splines - all at once.
It's the curve sibling of the Clean Up tool in MACHIN3tools.
Selection
- no particular selection is required, but POLY or NURBS splines need to be present
Using Clean Up
Remove Doubles, Remove Redundant, Delete Loose - all at once
Invoke Clean Up from the Menu, the Sidebar, or using the Keymap
- Remove Doubles merges neighboring points closer than the merge distance
- Remove Redundant dissolves (nearly) colinear interior points
- optionally enable Ignore Tilt so points are dissolved even when their tilt differs from the neighbors
- Delete Loose removes loose POLY/NURBS splines
- Cyclic 2-point splines are always turned into non-cyclic ones
- A fading label reports what was done at the mouse location, or let's you know if everything is clean already
All of these options - including the merge distance and dissolve angle - can be toggled or adjusted afterwards in the redo panel.

Keep in mind
Tilt is disabled for the Redundant Removal by default because it would visually affect the curve if a point's tilt differs from its neighbors.
